A water softener plant removes hardness — calcium and magnesium salts — from water through ion exchange. Hard water passes through a vessel filled with cation resin, which exchanges hardness ions for sodium ions. When the resin is exhausted it is regenerated with brine (common salt solution) and put back into service.
Why soften water
- Prevents scale formation in boilers, heat exchangers and cooling towers
- Protects pipelines, pumps and equipment and improves heat transfer
- Reduces soap and detergent use in laundries, hotels and hospitals
- Improves process consistency in textile, food and other industries
System options
- Manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic (multiport or timer-based) operation
- FRP or MS rubber-lined pressure vessels
- Single unit or duplex (one working, one standby) for continuous supply
- Brine tank with salt dosing arrangement
Abhay Enviro Engineering sizes each softener on your raw-water hardness and daily consumption, and can combine it with a water treatment plant, DM plant or RO plant as required.
